Mount Stuart, Britain's most spectacular Victorian Gothic house is the architectural fantasty of the 3rd Marquess of Bute and his architect Sir Robert Rowand Anderson. It is situated on the Isle of Bute which, with its proximity to Glasgow, is the most accesible of Scotland's west coast islands. The house is open 7 days a week from 1st May - 30th September. Our Gardens and Grounds, Visitor Centre Restaurant, Visual Arts Exhibition and Garden are also open daily May - September. Please call the Mount Stuart Office on 01700 50 3877 for detailed opening hours. Boasting arguably the finest private Chapel in Scotland, Mount Stuart is a perfect venue for weddings. Private and corporate events for up to 200 guests can easily be accommodated in the stunning Marble Hall. Furthermore we have on site accommodation for up to 22 guests, complimented by our nearby self catering lodges, Nether Stravannan.
